manchesterwireless.net win funding!

Since forming as a charity, manchesterwireless.net have put in several funding applications to buy equipment to help in the growth of the network.

We've just heard back from the Manchester Community Chest, and our funding application has been successfull!

The funding we have received is for the equipment to set up several Access Points in and around Manchester. The grant is in part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit (NRU)

Now that we can buy the equipment, what we really need is the roof-space to install it. Over the next couple of weeks we will be looking for tall buildings which offer good line-of-sight to a residential area. If you know of anyone who can offer us roof-space on a tall building, then email us. If you help us get access to a building near where you live, you might even get free net access out of the bargain.
