Drinks & Chat Session Four

This note is to confirm that the North Manchester group wlll be having a "mini-meeting" at "The Three Arrows" on Tuesday 8 July at 20:00.

This is likely to be a small group as holidays and commitments have depleted numbers.

However Rob Kyle is available, and a few others have shown interest, so I intend to go ahead.

The Three Arrows is just off junction 19 of the M60.

For full directions to see the entries for previous meetings, earlier in this blog.

The next full meeting will be on 22 July. The majority of "regulars" seem to be available then.

Four attended tonight.

Rob Kyle

Darren Storer

Definately a techies night out.

No PC's were hurt (or even switched on)
The radio hating gremlin in the arrows was left in peace, no radio kit was activated.

Rob wowed the crowd with his sartorial elegance in his graduation suit.

Plenty of talk, ranging from Rob's problems with his motherboard, through Darren's tweaking Harry about his paranoid double NAT connection to the Internet and on into mesh routing and smart dust.

Having put the world to rights , explored the linits of quantum cryptography and again enjoyed the "Arrows" excellent hospitality, all are away home, resolved to meet again on the 22nd.

Yes, the conversation this was very *eclectic*.

My particular favourites were; mesh routing with bluetooth-enabled mobile phones, covering the world with smartdust, and the possiblity of routing round WiFi line-of-sight problems with a little help from the electricity network.
